Rose O'Brien - ADCRG
Rose is the Principal of the Academy. As to origional founder of the school, Rose continued to develop and nourish her love and passion for Irish Dancing from her competitive days dancing in Dublin, into teaching when she emmigrated to Perth in 1989 with her husband Patrick, and her chirldren Anthony, Annemarie and Martina. Teaching hundreds of students including her two daughters, Rose has been a pivotal member of the Irish Dancing Community both in WA and Nationally for over 25 years.
Martina O'Brien - TCRG
Martina joined the teaching staff at the Academy after she retired from competitve dancing with two State Championship Titles and multiple Top 5 placings at WA State Championships, once she competed in the most prestigious category for female dancers in Australia - Senior Ladies (21years and over). Having danced for her mothers school since she was two years old, Martina competed in local, national and international competition both solo and ceili. Sharing in Rose's passion and love for Irish dancing and celebrating her heritage and culture, Martina followed in Rose's footsteps and successfully obtained her TCRG qualification in September 2016.
Annemarie Poland (nee O'Brien)
After a very successful competitive dancing career achieving Top 15 placings at the Australian National Championships and multiple Top 3 placings in WA State Championships, Annemarie retired from competitions to join the teaching staff of the O'Brien Academy. She has danced since she was 3 years old and travelled the globe competing at local, State, Interstate, National and International competitions both in Solo and Ceili competitions including the World Championships multiple times. Marrying her husband, Lee, in January 2015 and now have two boys, Lachlan (3) and Liam (9months) Annemarie continues teaching alongside Rose and Martina to develop and grow our Academy family.
